Biography

Ken is responsible for Environmental Liability underwriting at Sands Point Risk, with responsibility for insured, broker, and claims engagement across complex environmental risk exposures. He provides primary and excess environmental insurance solutions for the manufacturing, oil & gas, and chemical industries, partnering closely with retail and wholesale brokers to develop creative, market-responsive coverage strategies. Ken brings more than 30 years of insurance industry experience spanning underwriting, pricing, policy administration, and portfolio management.

Personal Note

Outside of work, Ken enjoys spending time with his wife, Susan, and their two sons, Matthew and Ethan. A lifelong Chicago sports fan, he closely follows the Bears and White Sox and enjoys an occasional round of golf. He also appreciates learning about and sampling different bourbons and values time spent with family and friends.

Questions

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Italy, for its rich history, incredible culture, world-renowned cuisine, and breathtaking landscapes. From the ancient ruins of Rome to the countryside of Tuscany and the coastline of Amalfi, it offers a unique blend of history, art, and natural beauty.

If you could only eat one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Italian food.

What is your favorite season and why?

Fall, because of the cooler weather, changing leaves, and football season.

What movie have you seen the most times?

While it's not a movie, I've probably watched Ken Burns' Baseball documentary more times than anything else.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Chocolate chip, cookie dough

If you could host a dinner with one person alive or dead, who would it be and why?

Teddy Roosevelt. His leadership, sense of adventure, and commitment to conservation helped shape the country in lasting ways. I would enjoy hearing his perspectives on leadership, resilience, and how to tackle challenges with optimism and determination.

What is one thing you've learned that you wish you could tell your younger self?

Focus less on having all the answers and more on building relationships. Strong relationships create opportunities and help you grow both personally and professionally.
