John has over 13 years of experience in P&C Underwriting, with a deep focus on Construction, including Admitted & Non-Admitted product offerings. Prior to Sands Point, John was Executive Vice President at National Coverage Corp where he was responsible for the development, management, and growth of in-house construction programs. Before that role, John held both underwriting and leadership positions at CNA Insurance, which culminated in the oversight of a $300M+ GWP book of construction business across eight local branches and twenty construction underwriters. While John’s physical footprint and primary territory has always been the in Northeast, he has also had oversight for the Midwest, Upper Midwest, and Florida at various stages in his leadership career.
Before getting his start in insurance, John worked in the construction industry for nearly a decade at a family-owned construction operation. During that time John earned his bachelor’s degree from LIU Post and then attended CUNY Baruch’s Zicklin School of Business on nights and weekends.
